Gilad Schalit finally entered his home in Mitzpe Hila on Tuesday evening after having been released from five years in Hamas captivity earlier in the day.

He was greeted by hundreds of Israelis waving signs and cheering his return home.

Schalit was escorted to his home by police in a convoy whic htook him from the site where his helicopter landed about one kilometer from his home.
