A senior Israeli police officer was investigated on Monday following allegations that he sexually harassed a number of female police officers.

The officer's name has not been released, but he is a commander in charge of an Israel Police district.

The officer underwent investigation at the offices of the Justice Ministry's police investigative unit for several hours on Monday, where he reportedly cooperated with investigators. It has not been reported what crimes he stands accused of.
