Serry: Palestinians are committed to two-state solution

Robert Serry, the UN Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process said on Monday, in response to the released of the "Palestine Papers," that the Palestinians are committed to a peace agreement.
"I welcome robust political debate, but some of the commentary I have seen conveys an inaccurate impression," he said. "I can personally attest to the commitment of the Palestinian leadership to secure the legitimate rights and interests of the Palestinian people, based on international law and UN resolutions."
Serry added that he "would urge both parties to show their readiness for a negotiated peace based on a two-state solution, and to deliver on the ground. It is to the genuine credit of the Palestinian leadership that they are doing show," he said, "and this is widely acknowledged in the United Nations."
