Shaath says he will head to Gaza for unity talks with Hamas

A West Bank Palestinian Authority official said he's going to Gaza to try to work out terms for a unified government.
Nabil Shaath, a top official in the Fatah Party of PA President Mahmoud Abbas, told The Associated Press Monday that he would go to Gaza soon to negotiate with Hamas leaders.
Palestinian Authority Prime Minister Salam Fayyad proposed a unity government Sunday. On Monday he said Hamas could continue to control Gaza if it pledges not to attack Israel.
