Smoking to be banned at bus stops, outdoor concerts

Bus stops, public event sites and outdoor concerts will become smoke-free starting next month, or rather it will become illegal to smoke in those places after the Knesset Labor, Welfare and Health Committee passed a resolution expanding current anti-smoking legislation on Wednesday.

Additional restrictions imposed by the Knesset are a ban on smoking within 10 meters of medical clinic and hospital entrances and designated smoking rooms in government offices will be removed.

Smoking sections in bars and restaurants will not be outlawed, but they will be limited to 25 percent of the total seating area.
