UN Security Council to meet Friday on Syria

UNITED NATIONS - The UN Security Council will hold a closed-door meeting on Friday to discuss next steps regarding Syria, France's UN mission announced.
"The UN Security Council will meet in closed consultations this Friday (at) 3:00 p.m. (2000 GMT) in New York to discuss steps to take on the situation in Syria," the mission said on its Twitter page (@FranceONU) on Thursday.
Separately, a council diplomat told Reuters that Morocco would distribute at the meeting a Western-Arab draft resolution that supports the Arab League's call for Syria's President Bashar Assad to step aside.
