US condemns killing of Afghan leader's half-brother

WASHINGTON - White House spokesman Jay Carney condemned "in the strongest possible terms" the killing of Afghan President Hamid Karzai's half-brother on Tuesday.

Ahmad Wali Karzai, one of the most powerful and controversial men in southern Afghanistan, was shot dead at his home by a senior and highly trusted bodyguard, officials said.
