A man was shot and seriously wounded during a robbery at a Postal Bank in Upper Nazareth Monday morning.

The incident began when a masked man entered the branch and demanded cash from the cashier, threatening her with a pistol.

When the robber was leaving the Postal Bank with an unknown amount of cash, a civilian who was in the branch attempted to stop him, at which point he was shot. The man was left in very serious condition.

Large police forces were on the scene and were searching for the suspect with the help of a police helicopter.
