Israeli government officials canceled meetings with a group of 15 members of the European parliament visiting Israel, after the MEPs canceled meetings with Israeli NGOs and decided to focus on visiting Gaza, Israel Radio reported on Wednesday.

According to the European new agency, EurActiv, the group originally numbered 21 MEPs but  six MEPs belonging to the European People's Party dropped out when it became apparent that the real purpose of the visit was entering Gaza.  The 15 MEPs plan to enter Gaza from Egyptian territory.
