Yacimovich: Labor alternative to Likud, unlike Kadima

Newly-elected Labor Party leader Shelly Yacimovich on Thursday officially received the reigns of the party from outgoing temporary chairman Micah Harish, saying that the party would represent a real alternative to the Likud, unlike Kadima.
"We intend to offer an alternative, at the moment as part of the opposition, to the Likud," Yacimovich was quoted as saying by Army Radio at a press conference. "Kadima does not offer an alternative way of life here in our country," she added.
"I have a lot in common with [Kadima leader Tzipi] Livni, but come election day, we will fight to make Labor the biggest party in this bloc, and not a Kadima satellite," she added.
