Indian authorities warned Israel last month that the Indian Mujahideen terrorist group was plotting an attack against Israeli tourists in Rajasthan, the Hindustan Times reported on Wednesday, citing Indian Home Ministry and Israeli sources.
According to the report, the Israeli embassy was informed that the Indian Home Ministry and police carried out a security review of Pushkar, Jodhpur and Jaisalmer, all popular tourist destinations for Israelis.
However, the Israeli embassy did not issue any warning to tourists of the possible threat "beyond the normal," the Times reported.
The cell plotting against Israelis was uncovered by Indian authorities after the arrest of Indian Mujahideen co-founder Yasin Bhatkal, according to the report.
