LONDON – The exclusive 2012 Sheikh Raed Salah calendar is now available for the first time. The calendar is adorned with pictures done by the leader of the northern branch of the Islamic Movement in Israel during his time in a British prison after he entered the country illegally.

It is available for £6 and a £3 delivery charge from the Middle East Monitor, an anti-Israel organization that helped bring Salah to the UK and sponsors anti- Israel events in London.

Describing the calendar on its website, the Middle East Monitor says, “When Sheikh Raed Salah was detained earlier this year at HMP Bedford, he completed a series of artworks which we have compiled into a calendar.

“Each piece of artwork is signed by Sheikh Raed Salah himself. Each calendar also has Raed Salah’s signature at the back, which was obtained exclusively for the production of these calendars.”

Salah, who is from Umm el-Fahm, lost his appeal against deportation in November and was set to be deported.

However, he won the right to appeal the decision and still remains in the UK.

He has been in Britain since June, despite being banned from entering the country. Before his arrest, the activist spoke at a number of anti- Israel events.

Salah appealed the original deportation order issued by Home Secretary Theresa May, who deemed that he was not conducive to the public good. He was granted bail in July, on a surety of $49,000, while he awaited the deportation hearing.

An immigration tribunal concluded in October that Salah had engaged in “the unacceptable behavior of fostering hatred” that might lead to inter-community violence in the UK.
