L’Oréal Israel marks Citizen Day

Volunteering inseparable part of our vision of society and our way of working, CEO says.

Under the heading “We are all citizens,” hundreds of employees from L’Oréal Israel dedicated their work day on Tuesday to meaningful volunteer work for the community.
Hundreds of employees – from the company’s headquarters in Netanya, the Caesarea distribution center and the Migdal Ha’emek plant – went to 12 different locations to take part in volunteering activities, in cooperation with organizations and associations that are L’Oréal’s social partners.
The main motif of the volunteer activities focuses on assisting women, in line with the company’s chief social investment, which focuses on promoting women in a variety of topics.
“A successful company is measured not only by its business performance but also by the positive social impact it produces around it,” said Elie Sagiv, CEO of L’Oréal Israel. “You, the people of L’Oréal Israel, make the difference, are an example and are leading an important change. I thank each and every one of you for the spirit of volunteerism and pride in you for the important work.
“L’Oréal Citizen Day, which is in addition to the social activities we do throughout the year, which places special emphasis on promoting women, is already part of who we are, an inseparable part of our vision of society and our way of working. Today you are joined by tens of thousands of L’Oréal employees all over the world who are joining together to create a significant social impact.”
In June 2019, L’Oréal celebrated the 10th anniversary of Citizen Day, a global social engagement volunteering day that the group offers to all of its employees in more than 60 countries where it operates.
L’Oréal Israel employees went to 12 different locations to volunteer.
In Netanya, at the Women’s Courtyard, the workers helped young girls and women at risk; at Beit Davidzon, the employees held a day of enrichment activities in the field of sun protection, beauty and nurturing for the dozens of volunteer women who help the needy populations in the city; and in the center of the city, in cooperation with the Hadassah Women’s Organization, a day of pampering, enrichment and nurturing was held for women who experienced domestic violence.
In Herzliya, at the No. 2 Violence Against Women shelter for women and children, L’Oréal’s hair and makeup professionals hosted a day of pampering and relaxation for the women, while the children were given activities to do.
At the Oncology Department at Sheba Medical Center at Tel Hashomer, dozens of L’Oréal workers from various fields gave makeup treatments and did creative activities.
At the Ohel Sarah home in Bnei Brak, the daycare center for ultra-Orthodox women with disabilities, L’Oréal workers pampered them with treatments.
Also, at the Netanya Rehabilitation Center for disabled adults, the employees assisted the disabled workers during their day of work; and at the Etgar Center for disabled adults, the employees held a day of enrichment, fun and memorable moments.
In the Hamifal Children’s Training Project in Kfar Hayarok where children and youth at risk live, the workers helped improve the look of the place by introducing color, accessories and decorations that will improve the living environment of the residents.
In the North, workers at the L’Oréal plant in Migdal Ha’emek volunteered at the city’s Grabski Rehabilitation Center, helping with maintenance and performing activities with the residents; at the Hamalbish Center, in collaboration with the municipality, they sorted and arranged clothes for the needy and reorganized the place; and at the soup kitchen, they packed and distributed food packages to the city’s residents.
