12 private bus passengers injured in accident on Haifa road

Twelve passengers of a private bus were injured on Saturday evening in Haifa when the vehicle slammed into a height-limit bridge situated at the entrance to a tunnel on Hankin Road, Israel Radio reported. Five passengers were moderately injured and the remaining seven lightly hurt. The passengers were trapped in the bus for a short while and then extracted by rescue forces. Fearing the bridge might collapse over the crashed bus, rescue forces erected provisory supports to keep the bridge standing. The accident caused traffic congestion in both lanes and police were directing vehicles.
