Agriculture Ministry foils attempt to smuggle meat from PA to J'lem

Agriculture Ministry supervisors foiled an attempt to smuggle 700 kg. of meat from the Palestinian Authority to butchers in Jerusalem, Israel Radio reported on Monday. The meat was found in a hidden panel of a truck carrying boxes. The driver, a 30-something east Jerusalem resident, was arrested following an intelligence lead. He was taken in for questioning, and the meat was confiscated. The truck was impounded to cover the driver's debt to the National Insurance Institute.
