The Likud Central Committee voted on Thursday night to allow party chairman Binyamin Netanyahu to complete a merger with MK Effi Eitam's Ahi party and/or the Tzomet party. The meeting, which started more than two hours late, lasted only 15 minutes as no deal had been reached and the committee members were simply asked to authorize Netanyahu to finalize the deal or deals if and when understandings were reached. It was also still unclear Thursday night whether party activist Moshe Feiglin and former MKs Michael Ratzon and Ehud Yatom would be restored to their previous places on the Likud list after they were demoted by Likud's election committee two weeks ago. The Tel Aviv District Court will convene on Friday morning to issue a final ruling on the matter.
