'Syria reiterates willingness to resume Turkish-mediated peace talks'

Syria has reiterated its willingness to resume Turkish-mediated peace negotiations with Israel, Israel Radio reported Tuesday morning. Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu reportedly told US administration officials in Washington last week that Damascus wanted the talks to recommence from where they left off before the IDF's Operation Cast Lead in the Gaza Strip at the end of last year. He said Ankara was willing to continue to mediate between the two sides and that Syria was waiting for Israel's response.
