Suicide bomber hits British convoy in Afghanistan

A suicide bomber in a car detonated explosives near a British troop convoy in southern Afghanistan on Friday, police said. It wasn't immediately clear if any troops were hurt. The attacker died in the morning attack about 100 meters from a British base in Lashkargah, the main town in Helmand province, said Abdul Rahman Saber, the provincial police chief. A British vehicle was damaged in the attack, he said, adding that he did not have confirmed information of whether anyone inside was hurt.
