Since May, the one-year anniversary of the US leaving the 'Iran Deal,' Tehran has been seeking ways to pressure the world to stop America’s sanctions.
Iran’s dominance of the Strait of Hormuz has never satisfied its arch-enemy Saudi Arabia.
A British security source said the focus of the new mission would be protecting the security of shipping and Britain would not be joining U.S. sanctions against Iran.
"We're engaging now with a number of countries to see if we can put together a coalition," said Marine General Joseph Dunford, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
Bagheri’s comments come as Iran has said it will break uranium enrichment limits imposed by the Iran Deal and amid tensions with the US.
