Millions of liters of water burst through a gaping hole in a Russian-controlled dam, flooding a swathe of the war zone in southern Ukraine.
A Russian energy official warned earlier this month that the dam risked being overwhelmed by record-high water levels.
Eight bodies had been retrieved from various locations, according to Italian politicians.
