Tali Hadad, a 48-year-old woman from Ofakim near Gaza, couldn't stay idly by when the war with Hamas erupted last Saturday.
Seated at home with her son Itamar, an IDF combat soldier, they heard gunshots after Hamas terrorists infiltrated the town.
Without hesitation, Tali urged her son, "Take your gun and save as many people as possible."
Leaving the house, she got in her car and followed her son to try and save lives.
However, Itamar wound up being the first wounded person she saw.

"I rushed him to Magen David Adom and then returned to carry with his mission," she stated while by her son's side at Tel Aviv's Sourasky Medical Center (Ichilov).
After ensuring her son's safe evacuation, Hadad didn't hesitate. She went back three times to rescue an additional 13 wounded people, bringing them to safety.
Following a day of intense fighting, Hadad returned to be close to her son, who now remains hospitalized in the trauma department at Sourasky Medical Center.
