Ohad Naharin gets Scripps Prize

The American Dance Festival (ADF) has awarded the Batsheva Dance Company's artistic director and internationally acclaimed choreographer Ohad Naharin the prestigious Samuel H. Scripps Prize for lifetime achievement. The prize, worth $50,000, will be presented to Naharin on June 25 in Durham, North Carolina, home of the ADF. The Cedar Lake Contemporary Ballet, which danced in Tel Aviv last October, will present Naharin's Deca-Dance at the ceremony. "Ohad Naharin has acquired an extraordinary reputation worldwide both as performer and choreographer," said the press release announcing the award.
