The Vertigo dance company is going to perform The Birth of the Phoenix at Beit Guvrin under a geodesic bamboo dome on August 5. The audience will be seated in a circle within and around the dome, with the dancers on a peat floor in the center. The idea is to connect everyone to the earth.
Choreographer Noa Wertheim helps adapt the dance to its new setting each time it is performed; The Birth of the Phoenix is a site-specific work with intense athletics.
Vertigo is an ecologically minded dance company based in the eco-art village at Kibbutz Netiv Halamed Hey.
