In an effort to boost Israel 's image as young, cutting edge and fashionable, the Foreign Ministry has formally invited fashion icon Giorgio Armani to Israel to help celebrate Israel 's 60th anniversary. The 74-year-old designer is expected at the end of March, though according to Yediot Aharonot, the ministry is currently awaiting official word from Armani's offices in Milan. Once the plans are set in stone, Armani's schedule will be set. All the usual dignitaries are expected to greet him personally, from the Prime Minister to the President. Armani's visit will likely include the launch a new Armani store at the Tel Aviv harbor. Armani is the world's foremost Italian designer and one of the world's richest men, worth an estimated $4.1 billion.
