The summer collection of Gali kids' sandals offers many attractive models, and my eight-year-old was happy to get a pair that looked like a cross between toe-slippers and sandals, looking stylish and not childish. At first she had to get used to the piece of leather between her toes, but after a while it wasn't uncomfortable anymore. The pink sandals with flowers on top are flat (no platforms!), with a cushiony, flexible sole. The only drawback is that the top part is made of suede-like material that gets dirty quickly. Prices for Gali girls' sandals vary from NIS 99 to NIS 139. A friend who has worn Issey Miyake's L'eau D'issey eau de toilette for years liked the new summer version of this scent, which is thought to be similar to the original, if a bit fresher. The bottle has the same cone shape as the original version and is decorated with green leaves, as is the wrapping. The fragrance is flowery, but definitely not too sweet; a 100-ml. bottle is NIS 359; a 125-ml. bottle of L'eau D'Issey for men is NIS 317. Parents who want their babies to look fashionable can spend the extra money and get Huggies Jeans diapers, which are supposed to look like denim underwear. The mother of a four-month-old was a little disappointed to see white Velcro strips used to close the diaper, giving it a diaper-look instead of a pants-look. The idea is very cute, but unless your baby is dressed in diapers only, it may not be worth the extra expense. The Jeans diapers are available until the end of July, at NIS 74.90 a package. Having naturally pale skin (read: I look like a ghost without makeup) and staying out of the sun as much as I can, I was curious to test the effect of L'Oréal Nutrisummer Face anti-aging moisturizer. Last year, L'Oréal launched the Nutrisummer body lotion, which gradually gives your skin a tanned look in just a few days. This face cream didn't disappoint, either, and after applying it for a few days, it gave my skin a "sun-kissed look," as stated on the package - so now I can skip the foundation. As a moisturizer, I don't think it is completely sufficient, so I also apply my regular face cream. The price for this product isn't too bad, either: a 50-ml. tube is NIS 80. Revlon has a series of makeup products that are available for a limited time only. A colleague tried the Molten Metal eye-shadow in bronze and thought it a little weird-looking. Even in this relatively neutral pink/brown shade, this liquid product is very high-impact. It was a bit difficult to apply even in a semi-accurate fashion, but that was nothing compared to the mess trying to put it away. The Sugar, Sugar dust-lip topping in white didn't fare much better; just the look of it made her laugh, because it has the texture and color of the inside of a snow globe. The little perfume bottle is appealing, although once you pull the applicator stick up, this glitter dust goes everywhere. Once it hits the lips, the effect is a little more subtle than you might imagine; however, unless you are a very brave makeup user, this is definitely a novelty product that should be left for either Purim or a dark club at 2 a.m. The price for the Molten Metal eye shadow and the Sugar, Sugar lip topping is NIS 80. Golf Kids is selling pajamas with glow-in-the-dark white stars on the shirt and the pants. The pajamas come with a book called Lali's Star and are wrapped in a cute little bag. My daughter thought the stars were cool, and even asked for the night light to be turned off so she could judge the effect better. A great idea for a kid who is scared to go to sleep. The price for the pajamas and book is NIS 99.90.
