Although summer is on the wane, Tel Aviv's bars and restaurants are committed to keeping things hot and on the streets. Knafe, a restaurant with a decidedly Middle Eastern flavor, is launching a series of theme nights centered on outdoor screenings of Arabic movies. Beginning this evening at 5, a large screen will be set up at the corner of Frischman and Chen boulevards. The atmosphere will be further enhanced by belly dancing, Arabic funk music and a selection of homemade Arak in flavors from strawberry and Bazooka to cinnamon and fig. Knafe's menu will feature dishes introduced specifically for the occasion. The appetizers include fried eggplant with red pepper and mint served with yogurt; a salad of wild seasonings, baby lettuce, tomatoes, goat's cheese, honey, lemon garlic and roasted chickpeas; and leek patties in a garlic and lemon sauce. Knafe is located at 90 Frischman St. The Mishmish cocktail lounge, a classic nightspot for the older set of Tel Aviv hipsters, is introducing a new line-up of DJs featuring an array of music from hip-hop to electronica seven nights a week from 8 p.m. until the last customer. Mishmish is located at 17 Lilienblum Street. And Temptation Bar is revamping its "kitsch night" with a new selection of kitsch cocktails. The music features everything kitsch from Seventies disco to just about anything from the Eighties - Cindy Lauper included - and even some heavy metal. Drinks include Tropical Iced Tea, Blue Hawaii, Malibu Bay Breeze and Screaming Orgasm. Temptation is located at 35 Allenby Street and is open from 10 p.m. until 5 a.m., if not later.
