Before you read this text, here's a serious warning: it was written by a skeptic. One of those whose soul struggles with innovations, a technophobe who refuses to surrender to progress.

Why is this progress so important? Because when I was offered to review the GOtv, Drako's new streamer, I initially declined. I have a Chromecast Ultra at home and I'm satisfied with it.

Why fix something that's not broken? The thing is, like everything else, stubbornness (from the other side) pays off. After all, I also said that Netflix is unnecessary because there are enough channels, and I even canceled my first iPhone (iPhone 4) back in the day.

So, I decided to give it a try.

Drako's GOtv is an Ultra HD 4K streamer powered by the AndroidTV 10 operating system, which supports a variety of languages, including Hebrew. The streamer is very easy to install and operate (PLUG AND PLAY), although I had some difficulties, but the principle was clear enough so that within minutes I could see it on my 12-year-old TV screen.

Here lies the key. I wouldn't install a streamer on the smart TV in the living room. I think it's unnecessary, but to get such an experience from a "dumb" TV in the bedroom? That's a different matter. The sound and viewing quality are advanced, it's easy to cast content from the screen to the TV, especially easy to sync the remote with the TV, and overall, it's a small system that may not have dramatically changed my life, but it certainly made a difference, especially towards the upcoming football season.

So, instead of casting from the phone to the TV using Chromecast, the Game Pass app is integrated directly into the TV. It's obvious that it may sound archaic, the millennial generation at this moment snickers and wonders what the fuss is all about, but that's exactly the point: a streamer for dinosaurs like me is not a big deal.

Fortunately, I could easily install the GOtv and even enjoy it.

Recommended consumer price: 299 shekels.
