100,000 water aerators distributed in two weeks

More than one hundred thousand free water aerators have been distributed by contractors for theWater Authority in just two weeks, the Authority said Tuesday. Milgam City Services Ltd installed 101,243 water aerators on faucets and showers in 42,632 households. Milgam won the tender for the center, the Tel Aviv area and the south. Two other companies won the tender for the Jerusalem and West Bank and the north.
The three month campaign, which began August 1, is intended to distribute 2 million water aerators for an estimated water savings of 25 billion liters a year. Water aerators attach to faucets and showerheads and reduce the water flow ideally without reducing water pressure. The aerator introduces air into the flow to maintain pressure. The Water Authority will be distributing three per household.
The Water Authority reiterated that the water aerators were being distributed for free and that all employees of the contractors wore special uniforms and carried identification declaring them to be working for the Authority.
