A 45-year-old COVID-19 patient, in her 39th week of pregnancy, was rushed to the Soroka Medical Center on Monday, while MDA paramedics administered life-saving treatment.
Doctors, however, were unable to save her life or the life of her unborn child.
Earlier this month, another pregnant woman who was sick with COVID-19 passed away after a month in serious condition at the Hillel Yaffe Medical Center in Hadera.
She was initially admitted to the medical center's coronavirus ward, but was scheduled a caesarean-section after two weeks.
The baby was transferred to the neonatal intensive care unit, while the mother's breathing continued to worsen.
She was intubated, and was declared to be in serious but stable condition. Two weeks later, medical staff pronounced her dead.
Another pregnant coronavirus patient, Osnat Ben Shitrit, 32, passed away at her 39th week of pregnancy, succumbing to the virus.
The medical staff at Hadassah-University Medical Center, in Jerusalem’s Ein Kerem attempted to revive her with no success.
Shitrit was admitted to the hospital's intensive care unit with breathing difficulties in serious condition.
Her situation began to deteriorate overnight as she experienced a system-wide body shutdown.
Hospital medical staff tried to revive her, to no success, and even performed a caesarean-section in an effort to save the unborn child, but efforts were not successful.
