A-G working to speed up judicial process

The attorney-general on Sunday instructed State Attorney Moshe Lador to order public prosecutors to request of the court that criminal cases be heard every day to speed up the judicial process.
In a letter to Lador, Attorney-General Yehuda Weinstein wrote, "Holding trial hearings each day could reduce the number of wasted  deliberations and focus them on the genuine issues which must be considered to assess a defendant's innocence or guilt," wrote Weinstein.
He added that holding the trial on a daily basis would give lawyers more time to study the case before the trial begins and enable the state to more lenient regarding defense requests to postpone the hearings before the questioning of witnesses begins.
