Accidental shooting of rabbi prompts IDF to change rules

The IDF has decided to change its rules of engagement in response to the accidental shooting death of Rabbi Dan Mertzbach near Hebron last month, Channel 10 reported on Wednesday.
An IDF soldier opened fire as Mertzbach's vehicle drove toward him on Route 60, believing the car contained terrorists and his life was in danger.
As a result of the mishap, the IDF has ruled to forbid soldiers from opening fire on moving vehicles in the West Bank.
