Israeli woman killed by passing train in Tel Aviv station

A 42-year-old Israeli woman was killed after being hit by a passing train on Thursday morning at Tel Aviv's Savidor Central station.

The woman lost consciousness while standing near the platform before eventually falling onto the train tracks.

According to witnesses at the scene, the woman likely suffered from a medical condition or incident that caused her to lose consciousness while waiting on the platform.

Magen David Adom emergency teams arrived at the scene to treat the woman but were quickly forced to determine her death.

One United Hatzalah first responder told Walla! that efforts have now shifted to retrieve the woman's body. Trains in and around the Savidor station suffered a temporary delay due to the tragic incident, Israel Railways said.

Power outage causes halt to train operations around central Israel

In an unrelated incident on Thursday morning, train stations across central Israel and the Sharon region were temporarily closed following a massive power outage that caused the sudden halt of all train movement in the area.
