A man was killed and two other individuals were lightly injured in a shooting in Jaljulia in central Israel on Saturday night, the fourth suspected murder in the past day in the Arab sector.
The victim, a man in his late 40s, was shot in his home. Police are conducting searches in the area and collecting evidence from the scene and from nearby security cameras.
102 Arabs killed since the beginning of 2023
According to the Abraham Initiatives organization, 102 Arab individuals were killed in acts of crime and violence in Israel since the beginning of 2023, including 95 Israeli citizens.
In comparison, 35 Arab individuals were killed in the same period last year.
The suspected murder comes just hours after a young man was shot and killed in Qalansawe in central Israel.
Hours before that shooting, a Bedouin Israeli suspected of attempting to steal farming equipment was stabbed to death during a fight with a foreign worker near Ofakim.
On Friday evening, a 15-year-old girl was shot and killed at the Kishor Junction in northern Israel. The girl had reportedly been threatened by her brothers due to her sexual orientation in the past.
