Attendance low at Netivot schools after rocket attack

Attendance at schools in the Negev town of Netivot was markedly low on Wednesday morning, after a rocket attack on Tuesday evening which injured one person spooked local residents into staying home.
A Grad rocket exploded in a parking lot in the town - which is located northwest of Beersheba only a short distance from the Gaza  border - sending shrapnel flying and wounding one person lightly.
Schools within 7-40 kilometers of the Gaza border were canceled between Sunday and Tuesday, but the Home Front Command allowed them to reopen Wednesday after an informal cease-fire between Gaza and the IDF took effect the day before.
Netivot municipality head Moshe Mimon said that just over half of the registered students showed up to class on Wednesday morning, according to Army Radio.
