Bank Leumi CEO withdraws directorship candidacy

Bank Leumi CEO Galia Maor has withdrawn her candidacy for the directorship of the bank.
“I’ve decided to pull my candidacy for the directorship of Bank Leumi and to stay on as the bank’s chief executive officer,” Maor wrote in an open letter published on the Bank Leumi online blog.
“A lot was said and written about my candidacy as the bank’s director and future chairman,” Maor wrote. “I have not made any public statements on this issue until now, and I think Leumi Blog, as an immediate, personal platform is a fitting place to express myself on the subject.”
“Bank Leumi is my home. For the last 19 years I gave been in the top rung of the bank’s employees and in the last 15 years I have been running it. I do my job while stringently safeguarding investors' money and my loyalty is completely with the bank’s clientele, its employees and its shareholders,” Maor wrote.
