Blair hopes Israelis, Palestinians accept Quartet plan

Former British prime minister and member of the Quartet of Middle East Mediators Tony Blair told Al Jazeera on Friday that if the Palestinians and Israelis are serious about peace, then they will adopt the Quartet's recommendations to create comprehensive agreements on borders and security within three months.
Members of the Quartet met on Friday following Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas's official submission of an application to become a full UN member to UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, and launched a new peace plan with a 2012 deadline.
Blair described the move as a first step, but said that the peace process can be concluded only through negotiations.
