Bnei Akiva rallies to help Jewish community in Christchurch

In the wake of the earthquake which killed scores of people in Christchurch earlier this week, the Bnei Akiva Zionist youth group in New Zealand started a campaign to raise money on Thursday aimed at helping its Jewish community.
“At the moment the money is intended to help the small Jewish community in the city,” Moshe Naor, a Bnei Akiva representative in New Zealand, said.
“It still isn’t clear what kind of damage was done to the synagogue or which members of the community need help.”
The Bnei Akiva chapter in New Zealand’s biggest city Auckland will be responsible for collecting and distributing the funds.
