Breathe easy: significant improvement in air quality expected

As the mist and dust which overtook the country subsides, expect to see a significant improvement in air quality and weather, the  Environmental Protection Ministry said on Saturday.
The EPM attributes the expected improvement in weather to a reduction in air pollution levels, which are a result of sandstorms originating from Syria, says Israel Meteorological Service Climate Department head Dr. Amos Porat.“It is not clear what caused the exceptional sandstorms in Syria,” Porat said on Wednesday.
“They did have some weather activity and strong winds, but not on a scale that can account for what happened. We are trying find an explanation.”
