Cabinet approves Liberman's re-appointment to foreign minister

The cabinet on Sunday approved the reinstatement of Yisrael Beytenu leader Avigdor Liberman to the position of foreign minister, after he was acquitted from corruption charges.
The appointment will be brought to a Knesset vote on Monday.
Liberman served as foreign minister in the previous government but was forced to resign after being indicted for fraud and breach of public trust in the Belarus Ambassador affair. MK Ze'ev Elkin served as deputy foreign minister, running the Foreign Ministry in Liberman's absence.
