China company to build $1.2 billion Sudan airport

BEIJING — A Chinese company on Tuesday said it has signed a contract to build a $1.2 billion international airport in the capital of Sudan.
A statement on the website of China's state-owned companies administrator said the Hong Kong subsidiary of China Communications Construction Co. will build a runway long enough to accommodate an Airbus 380.
The statement said the airport will enhance Khartoum's international ties.
