Clalit strike ends after treasury, Histadrut reach understandings

Clalit strike ends after

The strike of 15,000 Clalit health fund workers - half of the whole staff - ended on Thursday, after the Histadrut Labor Union and Finance Ministry reached satisfactory understandings. Following the lines of the agreement, the treasury will approve a salary raise of eight percent to the workers' paycheck, pending on seniority, and employees will begin clocking-in. The workers will resume their labor immediately to make up for the lost time and damages to the system. The health fund workers - including administrative and maintenance personnel, technicians and others in Clalit's hospitals and community clinics - maintain that their wages have been eroded by 25 percent in the last few years.
