Court extends remand of Netanya hit-and-run suspect

The Petah Tikva Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday extended by a further six days a suspect in the deadly hit and run that took the lives of three Netanya women earlier this month.
The suspect, Oren Hanunah, was already remanded by the court for five days last week, and the court’s extension on Wednesday came as police reportedly have gathered more evidence to confirm that he was involved in the accident and or assisted Shushan Baraby in his three day flight from police.
Baraby is likely to face charges of manslaughter, fleeing the scene of an accident, failure to give assistance to a wounded person, and driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs.
It has been widely reported this week that an indictment is likely to be presented against the 35-year-old Baraby by sometime next week, after police received witness testimony that he was drinking before the accident, and was seen driving off in the Audi sedan before the fatal accident took place.
