Danino: Limit time case can continue without indictment

In an apparent reference to the long-running corruption case against Foreign Minister Avigdor Liberman, Police Insp.-Gen. Yohanan Danino said Saturday that legislation should be passed which limits the time a police investigation against an individual can continue without an indictment being issued.
Speaking at an event in Beersheba, Danino said that an investigation continuing for ten years without an indictment is "clearly unreasonable."
On November 8, the State Attorney’s Office and Attorney-General Yehuda Weinstein said that they will likely make a decision on whether or not to indict Liberman in about a month’s time, and before the elections on January 22.
The potential allegations raised against Liberman have varied from bribery to money laundering to witness harassment and to lesser offenses.
