Despite Irish protests, EU to store data in Israel

The EU is set to approve a data transfer pact with Israel on Thursday, despite Ireland's concerns, The Irish Times reported.
Irish Justice Minister Dermot Ahern reportedly campaigned against the measure, citing concern over the use of eight forged Irish passports by alleged Mossad agents involved in the assassination of Hamas operative Mahmoud al-Mabhouh.
The deal would allow the storage of sensitive personal data on European citizens in Israel.
