Drivers must use headlights on highways for winter

Starting Monday, it is mandatory for drivers to turn on their headlights, during the day, on all inter-city roads .

The Transportation Ministry issued a statement Sunday reminding the public that the ordinance would be in effect between November first and March 31st, 2011 and that the penalty for drivers caught with their headlights off is a NIS 100 fine and two demerit points on the driving license.

Buses, taxis and freight vehicles must have their lights on during the day when driving within city limits as well as on inter-city roads.
