Egypt arrests 83 African migrants

CAIRO — An Egyptian security official on Wednesday announced that authorities have arrested 83 African migrants trying to enter Israel.
The official said that security forces detained the 63 Ethiopians and 20 Eritreans near the city of Suez.
The arrests come a day after the UN refugee agency said human traffickers are holding some 250 Eritreans hostage in Egypt's Sinai peninsula. UNHCR said Egypt's Interior Ministry has assured the agency it is looking for the Eritreans.
