Egypt's Salafists: We refuse normalization with Israel

The Egyptian Salafist Al Nour party said Saturday that it would respect the peace treaty but would refuse normalizing ties with the Jewish state after winning nearly a third of the list vote in the country's first and second parliamentary elections.
The party said via a statement to the press that while they would uphold the existing treaty with Israel, they would also attempt to alter the "unfair principles" in the accords.
Al Nour said that Egypt, as an "Arab and Islamic nation," must be committed to the rights of Palestinians.
