European satellite experiences computer failure

The European Goce satellite has run into difficulties as a second computer failure prevents it from sending data down to Earth, the BBC reported on Sunday.
The satellite is tasked with mapping variations in Earth's gravitational field.
This February, a processor failure forced the European Space Agency to switch the satellite onto its back-up computer system - the one that has now encountered difficulties.
European space engineers were still trying to brainstorm solutions to the computer problem at the time of the report.
