FADC, local authorities to discuss emergency preparedness

The Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee plans to discuss emergency preparedness in a conference with local authorities on Monday.

The conference, organized in cooperation with the Union of Local Authorities in Israel, will feature addresses by FADC chair Shaul Mofaz as well as high-ranking IDF officers.

Homefront Commander Maj.-Gen. Yair Golan will review threats on the homefront during times of routine and emergency, and mayors of municipalities, such as David Buskila of Sderot and Yona Yahav of Haifa, will give overviews of lessons learned in recent emergency situations.

The National Emergency Management Authority plans to present the ways it is preparing local authorities to deal with threats.
