First Israeli Muslim policeman reaches rank of Lt.-Gen.

The latest round of police appointments will see the first Muslim policeman promoted to the rank of Lieutenant General this week.
Acting head of the Coast (Hof) Police district, Jamal Hakrush, will be promoted to the post of deputy head of Traffic Police and will receive his new rank, after Public Security Minister Yitzhak Aharonovitch approved the appointment of 11 new lieutenant commanders.
